Photograph article dated March 27, 1965 partially reads, "John H. Deering is a man in his fifties, a man you might encounter any busy week-day in an executive office, as a company official, a manager or supervisor. He has a commanding appearance, a ruddy complexion, and a hearty, jovial manner. He is well spoken and obviously a man of parts. But John H. Deering is - or rather, was - a problem drinker. A native Californian, Deering held a variety of jobs in his productive career, including clerical positions with the state government and responsible jobs for private industry - until drink became his downfall." Photograph caption reads, "Prayer - Deering found strength through prayer during rehabilitation program."; See images #00124186 through #00124192 for all photos in this series.
