Description
Photograph of ship unloading lumber at a wharf, ca.1920. On the left, the large rectangular hull of the ship can be seen stretching from the immediate foreground to the background. Above the hull's exterior, several wires and cranes are visibly extending over the deck of the ship. Each crane arm is tilted at a slight angle. A small pulley can be seen near the protruding end of each pole. Below the pulleys, a metallic hook is visible. Several crane arms are visible into the far background. Over the edge of the deck at center, a large pile of lumber is being unloaded from the ship. On the dock below, tow men on the right look up towards the lumber on the ship. One man can be seen holding the handle to a small wheeled-cart with some wood stretched across its body. In the background, another man is seen next to a similar cart, and a large pile of wood moves into the warehouse on the right. Numbered columns line the face of the warehouse, and the building is visible far into the background. In the foreground on the right, a small ladder is visible leading to the roof of the building. Additionally, small tracks can be seen on the wooden dock.
