Photograph caption dated January 10, 1950 reads, "Breaking ground for the new $70,000 club house at Orcutt Park, in Canoga Park, are left to right, John Fraser, president, Canoga Park Chamber of Commerce; Councilman J. Win Austin; Mrs. W. W. Orcutt, West Valley civic leader in whose honor the park is named; George Hjelte, general manager Recreation and Parks Department; Mrs. Vertus Geisinger, president, West Valley Coordinating Council; Mrs. Rollin Brown, president, Recreation and Parks commission; and Marion Sparrow, Valley district superintendent, Recreation and Parks Department. Scores of West Valley leaders attended the ceremonies. The building will be completed in four months.”
