Description
Photograph of a man mining in the desert, ca.1907. At center a man is visible from the side crouched and kneeling on his right knee. He is visible wearing jeans, a collared shirt with rolled-up sleeves, a cap, and sunglasses. He is visible smoking a cigarette while his right hand holds a small pan. The man appears to be dumping something from the pan into a larger bowl. To the left of the man a pan is visible on the ground with some sort of tiny rocks inside of it. Two men are visible in the background and appear to be holding a wheelbarrow and shovel. Rocks and dirt are visible on the ground throughout.
