Description
A shrewd businessman was C. S. Thompson Sr., who built the first general store in Bellflower, in 1910. The town's population then was 100. Two years later it had zoomed to 1200. The Thompsons are still in business, and the population now is 52,000. Photo dated: February 4, 1956.
