Description
Photograph of people seated on a railroad pier in Newport Beach, ca.1908. The pier is in the foreground at right and a large number of people is seated on the left edge of the wooden structure. A pair of metal railroad tracks run down the pier, and two flatbed railroad cars are visible with more people seated on them. In the background, a long, sandy beach is visible and many people are playing in the surf or on the sand. A row of large buildings runs behind the beach, parallel to the ocean.
