Photograph of a portrait of an old Mono Indian with many war medals carved in flesh on his chest, ca.1900. The man is pictured from his upper torso to his head and is turned to the right. He is topless and is only wearing a feather and fur headdress. His bare chest is covered in small white ornaments, identified as war medals. At the time of this photograph, the man was 105 years old.
