Photograph of a Signal Hill oil well view, 1929. A small one story building can be seen in the right foreground. Numerous oil derricks can be seen at center, extending out to the horizon. A road can be seen cutting through the field of oil derricks, beginning in the lower left foreground, extending to the lower right side. Many cylindrical oil storage tanks can also be seen clustered around the derricks in the foreground. Steam can be seen rising from the tops of some of the cylindrical oil storage tanks.
