Photograph caption dated March 24, 1959 reads, "Patrick T. McCall, 12, of North Hollywood receives trophy from Robert Russell, president of Civic Center Optimist Club, for winning first place in semi-finals of oratorical contest sponsored by service groups. John S. Gibson, left. [sic] City Council president, was one of judges. Third place winner was Charles Speers, 11, of North Hollywood. Patrick will enter zone finals Friday at Rodger Young Auditorium in Los Angeles."
