Photograph caption dated March 24, 1962 reads "Al Apuzzo, center, a student at San Fernando High School, receives the 'Youth of the Month' award from the Pacoima Coordinating Council for his role in rescuing 8-year-old Craig Schnitger from the Pacoima Wash last month. Presenting the award to the 15-year-old Boy Scout are, from left, Jerry Adler, chairman of the Youth of the Month Committee, and Mrs. Archie Chieves, council president. Apuzzo was honored at a community luncheon."
