Designed by Weston & Weston, this branch, complted in 1928, is in the style of an early California ranch house. Photograph article dated May 2, 1960 reads, "Leonard Dawson, 90-year-old retired chauffeur, and his 8-year-old canine companion Prince enjoy peace and quiet of "reading session" in North Hollywood's branch library reading room. Dawson, who came to U.S. in 1922 from his native St. Anne's on the Sea, Lancashire, England, enjoys National Geographic most, he says. They live at 5507 Strohm Ave., North Hollywood. In Background [sic] is another regular library visitor, Helen Kay, 11249 Huston St., North Hollywood."
