Photograph shows the exterior of Immanuel Lutheran Church in San Jose. A car is parked on the curb at the side of the building. The sign in front of the church reads "Immanuel Lutheran Church. Church school 9:45 A.M., Worship service 11 A.M. Pastor Lauren A. Lundblad [illegible]." Stenciled on the curb in front of the church "349 S. Market." The church, originally called Svenska Evangeliska Lutherska Emanuel-Kyrkan, or Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church, was founded in 1884. The church, completed in 1885, was located at the corner of South Market Street and Auzerais Street in San Jose. This building was demolished in 1952 and a new church was built at the corner of Leigh and Moorpark Avenues in San Jose, where it stands today.
