Photograph caption dated May 13, 1959 reads "County Supervisor Warren M. Dorn autographs broken-ankle cast of Donald E. Black, 32, Lancaster carpenter rescued by his two sons Steven, 10, left, and Kenneth, 12, after abandoned mine cave-in. Black and his wife, Mardean, brought boys to Hall of Records to receive scroll for heroism presented by Supervisor Dorn."
