Description
This brown leather purse was wired for audio surveillance by Leo Jones, inventor and private detective, circa 1968. A microphone is hidden in the lining, behind a small hole in the leather, on the top right-hand side of the purse. Attached to this microphone is a 3mm mono jack for attachment to a tape recorder or a radio transmitter. In addition, a wire wrapped around a rectangular piece of cardboard inside the purse extends inside the lining and into the strap on the left side of the purse. This wire acts as an antenna for sending audio by radio transmitter to a remote location for listening or recording.
