Description
"Die Kirche in Pella." ("The church in Pella."). The center of the picture shows a house with a thatched roof. The entrance of the house has stairs in front of it. Three men standing on the stairs on the left side of the entrance, two of European origin, one of either European or African origin. Next to the men on the right side of the entrance one woman holding an infant and three girls of African origin as well as a boy of probably African origin. Next to the church on the left side a group of African women and mainly girls. The church bell stands in front of and a tree behind them. Next to the church on the right a group of African men and mainly boys. A tree stands in front of them and another one behind them in the background. Imprinted on the image: "[236] Pella. Süd=Afrika." ("[236] Pella. South Africa.").
