Description: This October 3, 1963, photograph captures the gaiety of the pre-Germany trip party for Sacramento City Library director Dorothy Drake (second from left). Left to right, are Marilyn Manning, Drake, Ms. May Drake, and George Ladd. The event was held at the Mansion Inn, located at 700 Sixteenth Street. Drake served as director of the city system from 1958 to 1971.
