Description
Annotation translation: Rev. Bienz' explanation: Photograph of the 50th anniversary. A part of the crowd which came together to celebrate, and which following the long ceremonies waited till the photograph was taken. In the background is the church of Kudat. The man in the black robe is Pastor Lee Wok-sin (Jesselton), President of the Church, on his right is Pastor Zhia from Sandakan, on his left Pastor Russell Nelson, representative of the Hong Kong Lutherans, then comes old Pastor Dschu, then my wife and I, and then the two Lutherans Nelson and Lundeen, who are on the staff in the secondary school in Jesselton. At the upper right of this copy it says that it is dedicated to the leadership of the Basel Mission. The signs in the lower left corner inform you that this copy of the image has been presented to you by the North Borneo church.
Annotation: "Erklärung von Miss. Bienz.
