Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated November 16, 1961 reads, "If you are a careful student of this newspaper, you will be confused by the accompanying photograph, which shows Eck Hiestand and Jim Corman riding in tandem in the Van Nuys Veterans Day Parade. It was announced, and duly reported, that there would be two cars - one per Congressman. What Eck knew, and nobody else did, was that he wasn't going to be running against Corman, after all. That knowledge might have changed the expression on Jim's face a bit." The photograph is taken at the corner of Haynes Street and Van Nuys Boulevard. The Bank of America Van Nuys branch, located at 6551 Van Nuys Boulevard, can be seen in the background.
