Description
Map of Claremont published by the Pacific Land Improvement Company of Los Angeles in January of 1888. Pictures of the Hotel Claremont and the Artesian wells surround the map. The map covers the area north of Cucamonga Avenue, south of Tenth Street, west of Forest Avenue, and east of Alexander (now Indian Hill) Boulevard. At the bottom it reads, "The Leading Townsite on the Great Santa Fe Route, Between Los Angeles and San Bernardino, Twenty five Miles from San Bernardino and Thirty Miles from Los Angeles, Three and One half Miles Northeast of Pomona."
