A long stretch of J Street between Third and Fourth streets is the focus of this circa-1959 photograph. Prominent is the antique façade of the Van Voorhies-Phinney building at 322 and 324 J St. The Grey Pharmacy at 1000 Fourth St. inside the California Fruit Building sits in the lower, left-hand corner of the frame. The Capital City Cigar and Liquor Company at 320 J St. stands to the right of the Van Voorhies-Phinney building. In the foreground is a Mobil service station sign.
