A mysterious "kidnapping note" found by a deputy constable at Compton and Manchester streets on June 3, 1926, started officers in search for Aimee Semple McPherson in Bouquet Canyon. The unsigned note on the back of a card reads, "Help, they took me to cabin at Bouquet." The handwriting was to be compared with that of Mrs. McPherson in the belief that the letter possibly may have been written by the missing evangelist, though the officer believed the note was a hoax.
