Photograph caption dated October 3, 1958 reads, "Michael Mills, age 15, of 4917 Enfield Ave., Encino, prototype of the 624 boys in the Valley Times Newspaperboys Organization, has won more awards than you could count. After capturing a group award of the California Newspaperboys Foundation, he went on to take their statewide award for scholastic achievement. Other honors include having his picture as cover for Practical English Magazine, a nationwide magazine for teachers. Mike - with 600,000 newspaperboys across the land - will be acclaimed Saturday in observance of National Newspaperboy Day."
