„Vorauf schreitet der Hornist. Bruder [Hermann] Grabe mit dem Dolmetscher Hans Borinski reiten hinterher [...]. Der Aschkarischum [Karawanenleiter] Ato Cassa verabschiedet sich [...] von seinen Freunden Ato Bischau, dem er [...] die Hand gibt und Tarafe [Terefe Daankii].“ („Ahead marches the hornist. Brother [Hermann] Grabe with the interpreter Hans Borinski are riding afterwards [...]. The Aschkarischum [caravan leader] Ato Cassa is saying good by to his friends Ato Bischau, who he [..] is shaking hands with and Tarafe [Terefe Daankii]”). Caravan with mules. Grabe and Borinski are riding mules, Ethiopians in white gowns are walking beside them and other mules, that are loaded with bundles. In the background eucalyptus trees and several grass thatched huts or houses covered with corrugated iron. Hermann Grabe (1901-1984) was a ship carpenter and deacon. He was a missionary of the Hermannsburg mission in Ethiopia from 1927 to 1935.
