Description
The local school band, backs to camera, look at the officials seated at the entrance to the new Hermosa Beach city hall and listen to the mayor as he delivers a speech during the dedication ceremony. The two-story, brick-faced building is devoid of ornamentation except for the marble facing and simplified columns at the entrance. Architect is Savo Stoshitch and the building was constructed at a cost of $328,390. Photo caption reads: "Mayor K.R. Anderson addresses crowd before new city hall. Dedication ceremonies attracted many pioneer residents of Hermosa Beach." Photograph dated Jan. 24, 1965.
