The local school band, backs to camera, look at the officials seated at the entrance to the new Hermosa Beach city hall and listen to the mayor as he delivers a speech during the dedication ceremony. The two-story, brick-faced building is devoid of ornamentation except for the marble facing and simplified columns at the entrance. Architect is Savo Stoshitch and the building was constructed at a cost of $328,390. Photo caption reads: "Mayor K.R. Anderson addresses crowd before new city hall. Dedication ceremonies attracted many pioneer residents of Hermosa Beach." Photograph dated Jan. 24, 1965.
