Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph dated December 24, 1949 shows Henry Kreis's statue, "St. Elisabeth of Hungary," which was originally commissioned by the Liturgical Arts Society as part of a project calling for religious sculpture by living artists. Henry Kreis was one of twenty artists selected for the project. The statue was first shown in New York in 1949 and later purchased by St. Elisabeth Catholic Church.; See images #00129497 through #00129499 for all photos in this series.
