Photograph caption dated November 9, 1964 reads, "Tonight's favorite -- Tom McNeeley, shown before the weigh-in, is a favorite to whip Thad Spencer tonight in a 10-round main event at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. McNeeley scaled 206 at the weigh-in." Photograph article partially reads, "McNeeley comes to town with a colorful reputation as a puncher as he has registered 23 knockouts in 41 fights. His record is 34-7, one loss being to Floyd Patterson in a 1961 title fight. McNeeley's set some kind of a ring record too in this scrap as he was down 11 times before losing in the 5th round."
