Description
1989-1175. In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. B, leaf 38. A bird's eye view; on the left is the Court and Library building; in the middle foreground is the fountain with four directional sidewalks and lawn in between surrounded by a circular sidewalk; on the extreme right is a partial facade of another state building; in the middle distance is a horizontal street with a truck and car traveling from left to right; across the street from the fountain another street proceeds into the distance and at the end of this street the Tower Bridge stands; on the right in the middle distance stands a four-storey building, the Sutter Club. Also have negative: no. #22,772 (4 x 5 in.) Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "'Tower Bridge' in the distance. Sutter Club, to the right. (9th st.) Wallis Apartments, to the left (9th st.) State Building to the right and left, in the foreground."
