Photograph of a donkey and rail cars used to haul ore at mine run by Free Gold Mining Company, Hedges (later Tumco), Imperial County, ca.1905. Chains are linked to the donkey's harness for attaching to rail cars filled with ore. There are three cars visible behind. About a dozen miners shovel ore from the side of the rocky slope (or look on).
