Description
Group photo taken on the porch of the mine office on the Hill. On back of photo: Handwritten in ink: "After the Company's President's visit underground 1897. Robert R. Bulmore, General Agent; Richard Harry, Mine Captain; Chas. Derby, Mine Superintendent; Ellard Carson, Asst. Surveyor; Thos. Derby, owner Almaden Store; Helen Mahany, dtr. of President; Hattie Carson; Mrs. Chas. Derby (Mary Carson). Front David Mahany, Jr.; David Mahany, Sr. President of Quicksilver Mining Co." Handwriten in pencil: "Mr. Bulmore often included himself in group photos by using a long rubber tube & bulb to release camera shutter. The tube is plainly visible in the photo." Stamped in ink: "Laurence E. Bulmore 1831 San Pedro Berkeley, California." Handwritten in pencil: "Thos. Derby 53 years of age. RRB 57".
