Description
Union Hill Mine located 1 mile East of Douglas City, Ca. Used water from Grass Valley Creek via the 15 mile ditch. Hand drilling in bedrock drain ditch, preparatory to blasting. Each year as more bedrock was exposed the drain ditches had to be deepened to mountain grade enough to carry the tailings from the far reaches of the mine. DCB
