Description
Photograph of a panorama of San Francisco in the aftermath of the 1906 earthquake and fire, shown from the Leland Stanford residence (?) on Nob Hill, 1906. A Gothic church is pictured at center, its roof missing or destroyed, while razed building foundations can be seen across the entire foreground of the image. To the far right, a collection of freestanding chimneys are grouped in such a concentration that they look like a miniature city of their own. More churches can be seen to the far left, while back at center, a building under construction can also be seen. A sign to the right of it reads "Bur[...] Shoes [...] 112 Geary [...]".
