“Dr O. and Murigo – permanent chief.” Group portrait of the Rev. James Nicoll Ogilvie (1860-1926), Chief Murigo and an aid, in front of Dr Irvine’s Douglas motorcycle. Dr Ogilvie toured British East Africa, in 1920, as part of his role as convener of the Foreign Mission Committee. ❧ This image is from an album chronicling the time that Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) spent at Tumutumu (1919-1921) and some of the early years at Chogoria.
