In 1960, the North Hollywood YMCA became the East Valley YMCA.
Photograph caption dated December 25, 1959 reads, "Andy Achterkirchen, senior North Hollywood High School student, accepts plaque naming him Hi-Y Boy of Year from Dr. Mario De Lara, chairman of North Hollywood YMCA board of managers. Youth now will compete for Valleywide and Los Angeles honors".
