Description
Annotation translation: "Accra: panorama taken from the old wooden lighthouse c. 1910 (information from A. Opferkuche sen.). From the bequest of Th. Jäger in Glarus, received October 1952. 3 sheets." Annotation: "Accra // Panorama aufgenommen vom alten hölzernen Leuchtturm aus ca. 1910 (Angaben von A. Opferkuch sen.) aus der Hinterlassenschaft Th. Jäger in Glarus, erhalten Okt. 1952. 3 Blätter. (Klebetikette)." Note translation: I understand the caption to mean that the "Vatican" is marked with an "X". The "X" seems not to be visible on the screen, however, and I find it difficult to understand what is meant. Possibly the residence of the - in 1910 newly established - Anglican Bishop of Accra (now just next door to the English Church)? (PJ 9/98).
