Light from second blast of new atomic series test in Las Vegas behind Burbank foothills was caught by Valley Times camera stationed on Mulholland Drive at 5:45 a.m. today. Large area of light at left of photo is Lockheed Aircraft Corp. , other lights show Burbank business, residential areas. Explosion was set off on Yucca Flat [sic] with 200 military observers in trenches 4000 yards away. Forty planes engaged in the aerial phase of atomic energy test.
