Claflin, the instructor and owner of the 160-acre camp known as the Starlight Training Center in Liberal, Missouri, is also a long-time U.S. military veteran. The students are U.S. civilians with different backgrounds and professions. They paid money in exchange for survivalism training. Claflin trained military personnel in and out of El Salvador.
