Handwritten.
Contains eleven illustrations, ten of which are watercolor and pencil drawings of ships. Includes views of the Mary Wilder, two other Gold Rush vessels (the America and the Globe), and other ships and barks encountered during the voyage.
"The Mary Wilder, captained by Moses J. Mulliken, carried the forty-nine members of the Massachusetts and California Mining and Trading Company and a crew of eleven. The ship left Boston on Jan. 30th and reached San Francisco on Aug. 9th (191 days). The log details the preparations (starting on Jan. 27th), the voyage, and the days spent in San Francisco (ending on Sept. 3).
