Photograph of a large crowd gathered for a Christmas ceremony on the Jubilee Square, in Bethlehem, Palestine, ca.1900-1910. A Catholic(?) ceremony involving two rows of men in sacramental vestments stands between two thick crowds watching the event. A man at center holds a tall cross staff above his head, while several others stand behind him. The squared homes of the down surround the event, and people stand atop the roofs watching. Several of these spectators appear on the balcony of a tall tower at center, leaning over the rail to watch the Christmas celebration.
