Pictured at an unidentified groundbreaking ceremony are, left to right, Joseph Barnese, proprietor of the Airport Bowl, and his wife Mrs. Helen Barnese, Robert Schunke, engineer, and real estate developer, Murray W. Cox. Cox spearheaded a $750,000 building program, that began with the building of the Airport Bowl, with other adjacent units to be constructed including an automotive center, barber and beauty shop and supermarket.
