Album created by students in Mrs. Courage's Junior Core Class at Poston incarceration camp. Includes introduction, facts about Poston, vital statistics, community council, school code, attendance rules and procedures, community enterprise, home life and block life, first sand storm, Dust of Poston (poem), Mom, Pop, and Me (poem), Red Cross, county fair, Night in Poston (poem), Poston for Me (poem), Our Lives (poem), Cottonwood Bowl (poem), Insomnia (poem), Poston Thermometer's Thinking (poem), Poston School (poem), That Flag (poem), After the Rain (poem), Memories of Hawaii (poem), illustrations of Poston II barracks, mess hall, tractors, construction, water tower, and camouflage factory.
The Japanese American Archival Collection documents the people, places, and daily life of Japanese Americans, primarily those who lived in the once thriving community of pre-war Florin in the Sacramento region, as well as the conditions in American incarceration camps during World War II. The approximately 7,000 original items include personal and official letters, photographs, diaries, arts and crafts, newsletters, textiles, camps artifacts, yearbooks and other publications.
