Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated November 18, 1961 reads "Phase II of Valley Presbyterian Hospital's three contemplated phases opened today with a public dedication and open house. The addition of 120 beds gives the circular-designed hospital a total of 180 beds, 28 bassinets. Shown in the picture is Phase I on the left, Phase II on the right. The $2 million structure took first prize in a nationwide study of hospital design efficiency, sponsored by Yale University. Open house will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and guided tours will begin today at the hospital, 15107 Vanowen St., Van Nuys."
