This facility, now known as Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Hall, is located at 16350 Filbert St. (lower left corner, not yet completed here) in Sylmar. San Fernando Road is the prominent street running along side the railraod tracks. Photograph caption dated December 30, 1964 reads, "New Juvenile Hall will open to receive 280 boys and 120 girls on Mar. 15. Buildings on left house boys while the buildings surrounding the open area on the right will house the girls. Buildings at the top of the picture house athletic facilities and classrooms while the large building along the railroad tracks at the bottom of the picture will handle admittance, court rooms, medical treatment, probation offices and administration."; See images #00112105 through #00112108 for all photos in this series.
