"No. 123. Animation. In fiction and in conversation one hears a great deal about the 'inscrutable' Chinese face. In fact, to one accustomed to the Chinese type of features, the Chinese face is most expressive and very pleasing to look at. The smooth regular features without projecting cheek bone or over emphasized nose, a warm olive complexion with a healthy flush on each cheek, soft brown eyes with dark shining hair make a most attractive picture. In the olden days Chinese girls wore their hair brushed smoothly over the head with a 'bang' covering the forehead. In these days their style of hair dressing is as varied as in any other country. A year or so ago when 'shingled' hair was the fashion all Chinese girls had short hair although it did not really suit their particular style of features. Now, when long hair has again come into it's own the Chinese girls shew taste and ingenuity in their hair dressing common to women all over the world." A group of young Chinese women are looking over the shoulder of one of the girls as she is looking at a newspaper or magazine.
