Photograph was edited for publication purposes The scholarship competition mentioned in the caption is the Westinghouse Science Talent Search, which is a prestigious science competition for high school seniors sponsored by the Society for Science & the Public (formerly Science Service), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting science through educational programs and publications. The Society for Science & the Public began the competition in 1942 in partnership with the Westinghouse Electric Corporation. In 1998 Intel became the sponsor for the competition and is currently known as the Intel Science Talent Search.
