Photograph caption dated February 15, 1962 reads "Painting of Christ after the Resurrection, 6-by-9-foot canvas done in oils by Mrs. Thomas Pipes of Van Nuys, a self-taught artist, will be presented Sunday to the Salvation Army's San Fernando Valley Corps. Lt. Col. William J. Perkins, Southern California divisional commander of the Salvation Army, will dedicate the painting and give the inspirational message."
