Title supplied by cataloger. This is one of 22 copies cast by the Gorham Company that was financed by the Woman's Auxiliary of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and dedicated on February 22, 1933. The statue was moved to this location in 1961 after occupying different sites in the immediate vicinity. The pedestal seen here was made from stone salvaged from the old County Courthouse after it was razed in 1936. A copy of the Jean-Antoine Houdon statue of George Washington outside of the Hall of Administration (later renamed the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration) in the Civic Center Mall. Dated March 24, 1961.
