Photographic portrait of Ross Kirkpatrick with a leaping tuna he caught of Santa Catalina Island, August 25, 1909. The fish is hanging by its tail from a wooden support at center. Kirkpatrick is standing at left and holding a fishing pole in one hand. He is dressed in a dark suit and tie. A dock hand is at right and is wearing overalls and holding a long hook. There are words written on the bottom of the image that read as follows: "Wt. 126 lbs. Time 3 hrs. Leaping Tuna caught by Ross Kirkpatrick of Los Angeles Catalina Isl. Aug. 25th, 1909".
