Description
The Elsie M. Castner Oral History Project was made possible by grants from the estates of Robert F. Cocklin, Ruth Castner Cocklin and others. The Dixon Public Library undertook this project in 1998 with the assistance of Chris Castaneda from CSU, Sacramento. The oral history of long-time resident Evelyn Dutra is a record of her memories about growing up in rural Dixon, CA. Her stories relate to the economic development of agriculture, ranching and business in small, rural California communities. Her family settled in Dixon in the mid-1900s.
