This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "First car through Twin Peaks Tunnel. Mayor Rolph, motorman. Arriving at West Portal. February 3, 1918. Supervisor Gallagher [with arrow pointing at appropriate figure]." View shows San Francisco Municipal Railway Type B car #117 exiting the west portal of the Twin Peaks Tunnel, operated by Mayor Rolph. A sign saying "Special Car" is hung under the front windows. A large crowd is on hand for the occasion.
