Group of guerrillas from the Farabundo Martí Liberation People's Forces (FPL) during their occupation of La Palma, El Salvador. The combatants, pictured holding their rifles, had just concluded a successful campaign in January 1983 taking Berlín and San Agustín. They occupied La Palma, a town of 12,000 people, for 24 hours before retreating to the hills in the middle of the night. Grupo de guerrilleros de las Fuerzas Populares de Liberación Farabundo Martí (FPL) durante su ocupación de La Palma, El Salvador. Los combatientes, fotografiados sosteniendo sus rifles, acababan de concluir una exitosa campaña en enero de 1983 al tomar Berlín y San Agustín. Ocuparon La Palma, una ciudad de 12.000 habitantes durante veinticuatro horas antes de retirarse a las colinas en medio de la noche.
